S5 engine into S4 chassis project
Ok so we have been working on this project for about 3 months now. It is taking longer than we anticipated. I am making this thread to ask questions that we have when we get stumped. So here is the first one...
The rack that sits on the block (vacuum lines, injectors etc). How do you route all the lines being that they are different on both engines. We can't switch them because the electronic connector is different.

You can't do it as you'll lose VDI control.
The S5 engine has VDI, which the S4 ECU (and harness) cannot control.
If you want to keep VDI, you must swap over the S5 ECU *and* harness.

Search for Luciu$'s thread covering swapping S5 ECU and harness into S4 car.

Have put off this project for a while. Starting it up again.
I found the thread you are talking about. When I tried to install the s5 ECU and harness, I discovered that the plug that goes into the passenger side of the car (above the ECU) is different. So I guess I have to splice that plus from the s4 harness onto the s5 harness to get it to work. If I am correct, where can I find a wiring diagram to know how to splice the wires? Keep in mind this is a s5 n/a engine into s4 body that also had an n/a engine in it.
