S5 ECU Testing/Swapping
S5 ECU Testing/Swapping
I have a 374 ready for the future TII swap (doing engine rebuild now) into a S5 vert na/at. When the time comes, I'll do the 2 splice method to make the na harness support the TII.
In My NA to TII JDM Swap!!! the author mentions that his first TII ecu was bad and he ran it for a week using the stock na ECU while sourcing a new 370 or 374 (dont remember which he ended up with).
So, is it possible to verify the functioning of my 374 by swapping it for the stock ecu or will the 374 be looking for TII specific inputs and freak out?
I'd like to make sure all my ducks are in line so when we start the swap everything will be ready. Bad things will happen to be sure, but I'd like to be proactive with what I can and bad ECUs is a known risk.
Thx

Looks like ilike2eatricers answered my question (indirectly) a couple of years ago in this thread in Post 15.
Oh, and the answer was yes, the ECUs are apparently transferrable at least within a series.
