Unhappy S5 Convertible Please HELP

Just brought a really nice RX7 S5 Convertible, it's got $6500.00 worth of reciepts to the engine and turbo 7,000 kms ago and runs absolutley primoQUICK AS. Its got 18 chromies and superlows and a twin 3inch pipe from turbo. I just replaced the clutch with an exceedy HD clutch and now my only PROBLEM is the convertible roof it's got a big split down the seem and these pouches down the side that collect rain I went to the upholstery dude and he saqid it need to be replaced! How much is a new roof? Just the back part that folds into the boot?
I even thought of making into a hard top maybe im dreaming now but give me your feed back of best options, PLEASE much appreciated

hard top = no ... unless you have about 5000 to do R/D and trial error (maybe closer to 10000)

Look at about 1000 to replace the rood

Do a search.

And I can't belive you bought that kids car (yes I know which one you bought without you mentioning it).

You can get by with paying around $700-800 if you buy the top off ebay, and then have a local shop install it. Don't try just replacing the back section. The vinyl won't match due to fading, and it will look like crap.

And by the way, the pouches don't collect rain unless they are full of crap or the drain lines are plugged. Stick your hand down in the pouch, and pull all of the junk out of there. Once you have it cleaned out, you should be able to run water through there, and it will run out a drain tube under the car.

Plan on at least $800, and don't be surprised if it hits a grand for a new top. Take a look at your headliner and see if it needs to be replaced at the same time.

Wicked thanks for the help guys, looked in those pouches and there are no drain lines by the look, looks like someones done a dodgey job??? Im acually over in New Zealand so ebay's not really an option as freight would be crazy prices, so my only option now is to have an auto trimmer make one for me or to try and source one of the Mazda dealer????
