s5 ALT's make batteries boil????

so i took my dead *** battery to autzone for a trickle charge (it's a sealed gel-Cell)
left it over night, picked it up about 530, 6.00pm.

popped it im my car ran it for a good bit, didnt really notice anything.
went back out about 830pm or so and ran it again and noticed a sizzling sound...

looked around a saw that it was my BAT. killed the car and diconnected the wires.
i've got on it, the s5 alt and i relocated the battery to behingd the seat
so would the boiling battery be from-

-been charging all night and the alts pushing it harder
-the relocated batteries wires are too long and not a big enough gauge(FOUR gauge currently)
-or the s5 alt is too much for the hole system

any tips? or did i miss something on the s5 alt swap?????

Thanks

Your local autoparts store can test the alt for you. Just be careful when you buy a replacement, since most of the reman stuff will not work right out of the box.
