it started a couple of months ago. i was driving a friend home and i WOT all of a sudden we started smellin somethin like popcorn.. we saw smoke coming from the passenger side firewall flooring.. etc etc.. what happend was that my catalyctic convert got clogged some how and the fumes werent escaping properly which im assuming made the exhaust manifold twice as hot.. a small rubber hose sticking out of the firewall im thinking went to the heater core rubbed on the manifold and caught on fire.. which caused a fire that burned a couple of vacuum hoses and the wiring under the passenger floor and dash... i tried rewiring it but it didnt work out so i went back to the junkyard and brough a complete engine harness that extended all the way to the interior.. replaced the whole wiring.. hooked everything up.. and my car wont crank over.. i broke a plug thats around the brake cylinder/ coils area and i dont kno what it plugs into.. im hoping thats the only thing wrong. but i was hoping someone on here could come take a look at my wiring and give me a second opinion.. my 7 has just been sittin there for more than 3 months cuz of that freakin muffler... so pleease can some help me out. some other small things i noticed. when i crank my moonroof clicks, err where the rearview mirror/interior lights are.. i her a click when i turn the key. my headlights dont turn on, but the pop up. everything else aside from the works.. i've managed to turn it on by push starting it.. wont idle.. im thinking its because of a wrong connection.. my fuel pump seems to be getting a constant signal.. i noticed the other day that i turned the key forward once.. and the fuel was flowing.. but i thought that it should stop after a couple of seconds. it sounded as if the fule pump was still pumping.. i had the fuel flowing by the engine bay.. it was strange so i took the key off.. i ran the car around the block but it would bog.. so i'd appreciate it if someone could help me out.. thanks alot.

i *heard* the fuel flowing in by th engine bay..
fyi i replaced the ECU with another incase my old one was shot since the fire was right there next to it..

Without actual identification of what is broken it is next to impossible to help you. It may be the starter kill plug if you have factory security, but you really need to identify the plug or post pictures.

The FSM is found in links in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section.

And your bump has been deleted. Bumps are not allowed in the 2nd gen technical section.

And it would be easier to read if you hit the enter button at the end of each paragraph. Run on paragraphs tend to be ignored here.
