S4 vs S5 tps
#3
talking head
the s5 features a second , but FULL range TPS
the original short range TPS is still there, and used for same functions as the s4 unit was
( the full range unit is for the exclusive use as one of the s5 EOMP inputs )
{ i have helped develop a dedicated EOMP controller that why i know }
- BOTH and ALL UNITS ARE FULL RANGE OUTPUT , 1-6 K ohm
its the cam that they rub on that denotes the function of short or full range
colours are deliberately different for the one going into the full range position
the reason s5 vert, s5 NA, and s5 turbo units wont swap
the differnt TBTB's used have swapped cam layout, reversing the position needed on the bracket
so, as such, its the BRACKET and POSITION that is the issue to be aware off
since the TPS unit itself is the same, regardless where it was intended to go, or the colours of wires
its simply a matter of cutting off the common plug
and carefully lifting the tab on its mount clip , and trading it in for your old one, on your bracket
hopefully , you decided to use the s5 narrow range coloured one, so naturally colours work out same
else, with multi, its easy to prove which is 5V , which is earth ref, and which is signal
( getting them **** about amounts to an upside down TPS signal, easy worked out )
- remake a new plug, and double check TPS is in range when closed
if full scale, you have to swap the earth ref and sig, simple
