S4 Turbo Removal

here my situation, i have a blow turbo gasket on my car. so it sounds like a jon deer and i am not nearly getting the boost i was before. so today i was going to take off the turbo and put the new gasket i bought on. i am average with cars and ****, so i ran into some troubles with the removal of some nuts in really hard to reach places and such.

so does anyone know of any good write ups on the removal of the turbo on a s4? i have looked threw some of the shop manuals on www.iluvmyrx7.com but i find they don't go into enough detail. i plan on tackling it again next sat with a friend but i would like to get my self a little more prepared.

you should be able to get to it just fine with all that stuff removed. I just took my turbo out and put it back in in about two hours. The reason it wasn't quicker was that I had ic piping, downpipe and other things to take off as well. Here is the secret. It is much easier to take the manifold and turbo off at the same time and finagle them out through the top. Make sure and take your upper radiator hose off and if you have it, strut tower bar. Good luck.

im about to do the same thing, but have a bone stock fully loaded car, so i have the damn ABS in the way :-\
so you say its easier to just take the entire turbo and manifold off rather than just swapping the turbo gasket?

i just did it thursday. TO4B

take off the 2 bolts at the bottom of the precat. take off the 4 nuts that hold the manifold to the block. then just pull all the hoses and off she comes. took me an hour or so.
