s4 turbo FUEL RAIL questions
Hello. I have an s4 turbo engine that I am almost finished installing in my GSLSE. Mods are Haltech e6k, s5 turbo, NPR intercooler, 2.5"exhaust. All I have left is the fuel system. I currently have stock fuel pump, stock rails, and 460 primaries with 720 secondaries. I plan on installing a bosch 044 and an aeromotive FPR. I've been searching for awhile, but I just ended up confused and undecided. I would like to use the stock rails (too save money), but I can't find any complete/thorough information on what to do with the pulsation damper, and how to attach the external FPR. I see a lot of conflicting info on s4/s5 rails, and I'm unsure what I should/shouldn't do. Does anyone have any experience with this? I would consider a parallel rail setup but I don't think I need it with the 250ish hp I'll be making. Any insight helps! Thanks in advance! Anthony

I wish I could be of more help (i.e more experienced) lol, however I've read/heard/seen a lot of people that just delete the FPD. I've also heard it can cause the fuel to heat up excessively and cause fire in some cases (mostly FD's). I'm fairly certain yer safe to scrap it. As for the FPR I'm in the same boat as you there budd : /
Hope that helps a bit//some moar comes along now teh once. lol. GL tho
Hard to scrounge up specific info as such when you want/need it, takes quite a bit of digging, and like you said, lots of contradictory/unclear/vague statements everywhere.

(thanks in advance to RETED)
Now if you decide not go parallel then just use the stock routing of OUT of Primary to IN of Secondary...out of Secondary to the Regulator..then to return line.

Note that the stock system uses the pulsation dampener but in the NEW system you do not have that. The aftermarket Regulator usually has one built in so it is not required.

The stock s4 rails are good enough, and the stock fuel routing is fine. Parallel is nice, but I've asked similar questions and a lot of people are still running factory routing with high hp.
The fpd is just deleted by getting the proper sized banjo bolt.
I am using all factory lines except the ones going from 2nd injectors to the fpr. That one line is -6. I couldn't find the proper 5/16 barb fittings to make it work. Besides, even if i could find it, they would cost an arm and a leg, at that point costing the same as my -6. The return fitting I have with 5/16 barb on it costed around $20, maybe more!
Maybe in the future I will convert at least all of the pressure side to -6, if not also the return line.
Oh, you know the factory banjo fitting that goes from primary to 2nd? The one that is a bent 5/16 tube that does a "u" bend? I had a spare straight one sitting around and used that instead

2 banjo fittings. 2 banjo bolts. 5/16" fuel hose and a couple feet vac line. you can find the fittings and bolts at the wreckers if you poke around. they'll probably give em free if you buy something else
