S4 TII engine to S5NA...Need Help..

I am putting a S4 TII Engine, ECU and drive train in a 89 S5 NA.
Can I use the S4 TII wiring harness and ECU in the S5 or do I need to get an S5 TII harness and ECU?

you could always look for a turbo shell, you know those are around...

but nope, you wanna be like everyone else and put the wrong engine in the wrong car, break stuff, cry and then spend more time and money to screw up the car more. then what do you have? a crappily converted non turbo>turbo car that is worth less than the proper counterpart.

why did i say it rudely? because i've seen plenty of "conversions" and something is ALWAYS FUCKED UP!

i'm probably the only person to have ever done a proper turbo conversion all the way up to rewiring the proper instrument cluster, i did it once and only once because i realized it was just simply not worth the effort vs just buying the right car from the start.

I'm fairly confident this information is in the 2nd gen FAQ and I'm fairly confident the commentary is the same. Don't waste your time and money when you could have EASILY and CHEAPLY bought a TII.

First off so I don't get flamed I agree with Ben, "Davey Baby", and Dan that if a S4 t2 shell is available it would be drop in plug-and-play, much easier, much faster, far less parts to purchase, but that's not always the case. If you cannot find a S4 T2 body and you plan to do a NA/T2 swap stay within the same series atleast(S4 NA to S4 T2 or S5 NA to S5 T2) it will make the swap much easier, the harnesses are different, the turbos are different, the ECUs are different, etc. With that said you can put that T2 motor in your S5 but given the differences all/most would agree it's not worth the trouble

Thanks again guys.
So like I said I have S4 TII engine and drive train.
I have a clean 89 NA.
I am gonna buy S5 TII harness, S5 TII Boost sensor, S5 ECU and TPS.
Do the full swap.
Anything else I should get?

a standalone to make life easier.

put the money you'd spend on that junk towards it instead. you'll be hard pressed to find an N370 ECU anyways and they go for upwards of $200 since the S5's were quite limited compared to the S4 and why spend $200 for a stock ECU, another $300+ for the other random stuff you'd need, that right there is half what a standalone costs. it will be less headache, more reliable, tuneable, better gas mileage, more power... you get the idea.

in order to make the S4 keg work you would have to swap the front cover, install a EOMP or leave the S4 keg alone with the mechanical OMP and leave the fugly EOMP in the engine bay somewhere, or install an Rtek chip into the stock ECU to eliminate limp mode. it's just a clusterfuck.

More than half. I think C. Ludwig sells the sprint REs with flying lead harness for around 850 bucks.

you'll need the S5 Front cover and Electric OMP too.
may as well get the S5 turbo too.
The harness connectors on the s5 harness would need to be changed anyways to accept the S4 TII injectors on that engine.Unless you run S5 TII injectors

NOW,it IS possible to do what you want to do but really,do you not see things adding up where you are spending more than what you really want to put out?

This is why guys are saying to you that an aftermarket ECU may be a better way to go..OR get a Freakin S5 TII engine..mwuahhaha...and make it easy!
