a MKIII supra turbo is slightly faster than an s4 turbo, and about equal with an s5 turbo. they have more power potential too, but cant even come close in cornering ability.

thanks.... I was thinking about getting a supra, but it would be more expensive, plus I like the rx body style better. Wankels are cool too. Something different for a change.

It annoys me when people say the S5 is faster then the S4. The S5 is more HP, but the S4 is lighter.. Stock they are the exact same 1/4 mile numbers.

i have an 87 t2 and my friend has an 88 mkiii turbo. i can beat him off the line because i'm a better driver, but we did some highway runs and he pulled on me every time. he had a fresh j-spec and i had a tired 170k engine, but i also had a dp/mp. and his was bone stock

You need to look over those #s.. the GSL-SE was faster then most of the second gen RX-7s
it had almost the same power and weighed a few hundred pounds less

Hey, I didnt make the chart .. I just found the chart. But all the charts i have read about stock RX #'s had the S4 & S5 being the same by the end of the quarter mile.
But hell what do I care .. my car is nowhere near stock.

N/A : 200 hp 188 lb-ft 3459 lbs
Turbo : 230 hp 246 lb-ft. 3530 lbs
Those numbers went up a tiny bit in the latter years of the Mark III...
