Talking S4 shift light

Ok I think this hasn't bee asked before but here goes.

What does the S4 ECU use to calculate the shift point? I was interested because well I just wanted to know how it makes the descission of when to turn the light on for econommy. I understand the basic principle but I would like to know the factors/variables that go into the ECU's computations.

I want to kill my shift light. And my redline buzzer... since I hear it everyday.

"Redline a day keeps the mechanic away."

Pull the bulb out. Seems pretty obvious...

Don't kill the buzzer. Dumb idea.
