S4 S5 wiper switches?

I'm assuming both S4 and S5 wiper switches are interchangeable? There's a good working one at the local junkyard that's an S5, but I have an S4 so I'm not sure of it's fitment, it looks essentially the same. Any input?

Well, I have a 'vert, so mine is totally different.

Go to www.mazdamark.com -

Icemark sells them, listed by year. If they are the same, they should be listed together (i.e 86-91 versus 86-88, 89-91.)

There are two different types of wiper switches - one with front wipers only, and one for fron and rear wiper controls. Otherwise, S4 and S5 are the same, except for aforementioned 'vert wipers. (they have controls for the top operation on S4, anyway.

Ah some errors there.

There are 4 major types of wiper switches, but 6 different switches total.

The coupes have a differnt switch for the S4 to S5 models. The S5 switches do not have a flashing hazard light indicator in the switch like the S4 models do.

And top controls for verts were in all non SRS (air bag) equipped verts. Since the 89 (a S5) vert does not have an airbag (or any of the 89+ non USA models), it would have top control in the wiper switch.

Given that, the all switches are interchangeable as far as front wiper operation, but other options (like rear wiper, or top control or flashing hazard indicator on the switch) are dependent on model and year.
