I have an 88 convertable N/A. My original trans burned up so I decided to go with a used one. The used trans I got came with the rear trans mounts but the mount is set up a little different then the one on my original trans. I have tried to look everywere for a solution and so far I have heard you should used the crossmember for the transmission that you have. s4 trans=s4 crossmember and s5trans=s5 crossmember. Is this true and will either crossmember bolt up or do I need to modify anything? The problem I have is that I dont know if I have a s4 or s5 type tranny. I dont have the crossmember for the used trans just the mounts. The pics below show the original crossmember, my original trans, and the used trans that I need to install. Can anyone tell from the pics which transmisson is the s4 or the s5? Also if I just need the crossmember, Do you know a place in GA were I can locate one? Thank you.
