Are S4 and S5 TII throttle cables different?

I checked Mazdatrix's website and the prices aer different along with part numbers.

I have a S4 NA with a TII engine in it. It has a S5 Jspec manifold on it.

The problem I am having is that the throttle cable is about an inch too short when I adjust it all the way in.

Here is a pic of my en gine bay. The Black line is the throttle cable(I know it's hard to make out at first)

I've interchanged them either way without problems before.

Sorry, that's probably not much help.

I have a s4 running a full s5 J-Spec setup. I purchased the s5 TII Throttle Cable from the Dealership...fits w/o any complaints.

Thx guys. So are they the same length?

I'm hoping the S5 is about an inch longer so that will fix my problem. Other than that I'm completely stumped as to why it would be short an inch when J-Rat pulled this one off a TII. It pulls fine so I am ruling out a kink or something.

Stupid question(s)...

Are you pulling from the braided cable rather than what It In cases It? Are you basing the length from where you have to tighten up the bolts (attachment tab)? Maybe It's bent? Maybe they vary In lengths.

I pull from the metal cable itself.

The cable is mounted on the right position through the rubber grommet thing on the UIM. I've adjusted the tension nuts all the way in to add slack but it's still an inch short.

I am going to call Mazdatrix or my local dealer ship this after noon to order a new one anyways since the outer plastic is starting to crumble.

If totally needed I was thinking of two methods.

Either at the gas pedal cut the wire and then extend it.
Or
Fab a closer mouting point on the back of the UIM
Pretty much a small piece of metal to extend the stock mount closer would work. I want to do this the right way though.

Well got off thephone with Mazdatrix.

The guy said they are. He forgot what was different. He thought it was something like angles or something.

Anyways. S5 ones are 20bux cheaper.

So I bought that and a OEM thermostat. Hopefully it will fix my tight fit.
