and are they interchangeable

The S4 NA housings and S5 NA housings are the same I believe.
The S4 turbo and S5 turbo housings are also the same. I believe.

Spark plug holes are in different position, also s5 has knock sensor hole above the plugs..You can use either series of housing, just keep them as set, 2 s4's or 2 s5's...

can anyone confirm this? also do I need to use s5 rotors with a s4 housing ans vis versa

S4 and S5 rotors work in either S4 or S5 housings, doesn't matter.
