S4 RX7 fuel injectors? old and out dated?
I’m in the middle of getting ready to do a rebuilt and a port on an 86 S4. And after taking the intake manifold off and looking at the injectors and the plastic "shower drain" pieces that are below them one can obviously see that this is not a good way to "atomize" and mix fuel. A simple one needle injector spraying a strait stream on a flat drain....nice. so has anyone out there went and got some newer 460cc multi nozzle spray injectors? they've got them down to where they can literally spray a mist these days. that has to turn into some useable horsepower somewhere right?

Interestingly enough they did change to the smaller style denso injectors with 3-4 TINY spray holes in the base on the rx-8s. They also moved the angle on the primary injectors so that they spray directly into the port opening, rather than into the runner floor. Anyway, supposedly these newer injectors are more efficient as far as atomization. Hmmm...I wonder if it would be worthwhile to try them in an FC. As I recall, the 4 yellow ones found on the 6 port engine do flow around the same as the NA rx-7 injectors.
the 04-05 4 port engine has 4 larger ones
total injector capacity of all 6 injectors on the rx8 is about the same as the na fc
