S4 radiator drain plug
I stripped out my plastic drain plug so I need to replace it. Now i've been searching for a while (and im sorry if I missed the info on the forum) But no local auto part stores seem to sell them. Does any one know what size they are? I think the pitch is a 1.25 . I'll replace it with a metal bolt if I have too unless some one has a better solution. Did any other Mazda's share radiators or anything? This is just bananas.

They should sell a generic drain ****. I bought one many years ago for my s4 at Advance Auto I think. It was white plastic with a wing nut type grip. Check in the HELP section, oil drain plug section, and radiator section. You should be able to swap the air bleed screw to the bottom, then epoxy the stripped screw into the air bleed socket. Assuming the threads arent completely gone a coating of JB marine weld will hold tight after it's cured. Moving the stripped plug to the top of the radiator just helps you monitor it for leaks. FYI you only have to turn it maybe 1 turn after you feel the rubber O ring squish.
No the threads are fine. The top is whats stripped, well crumbled and I tried to take a screw driver to it. I ended up heating my screw driver with a blow torch and melted it into the top to get some traction.
