I was going to do the same thing but you got to get the OMP block off and run premix if your gonna use a s5 cover on a s4 and that water pump housing will work but you need the s4 water pump front. Double check though cause I never actually did it i stuck with all s4 stuff, but that's what I was told there is a website im sure someone will point you to i just for got the website name but it tells you exactly what to do. try www.rotaryheads.com they might have some info

i have an s4 block on my s5 car. i am wanting to put the electrical omp on the engine so that it is working properly. what i need to know is will the s5 oil pump cover go onto the s4 block? and also, will the s5 water pump go on the s4 block as well or is there a different bolt up pattern?

this should be a little more informative for those of you who did not understand it the first time. i read it and it confused me for a sec, lol.......

if you want OMP to work you have to go s4 cover on s4 block, s5 cover on s4 block means mixed fuel. and for the s4 block go, s5 water pump housing with the s4 water pump cover. make sense?

I am not sure this is correct. I have put a mechanical OMP (S4) on an S5, worked perfect. I am pretty positive that S4 block, S5 cover, S5 WP, and S5 (not S4) OMP will work fine.

i dont understand what "the wildchild" is trying to say. mixed fuel? that makes no sense at all seeing how the oil has nothing to do with the fuel injectors whatsoever. if the s5 cover fits on an s4 block, and the s5 waterpump fits on the s4 block, then i am in the clear. so what i am saying is: thank you d walker for your clear answer to my question. i think i will try it this sunday and repost my results once done. thanks!

This^ is correct. i was thinking of 93(fd) covers have an extra bolt, my bad.

If you use any of s5(cover,water pump, or OMP) you have to use them all.

S4 cover won't work with s5 omp and water pump won't work. the s4 cover with
s4 omp, may work with an s5 water pump.

BUT an s5 cover with s5 omp, will NOT work with an S4 water pump, the bottom hose neck hits the electronic OMP.

there isnt much that gets past me,, and i have built two in the last fortnight
have lost count as to how many that is now

i call it a timing cover and have done the last 20 years
last time i looked ,, under there is the drive for the distributor,, and that is timing

for the OP

you need you s5 timing cover,, s5 EOMP, s5 water pump housing, and 8 bolt s5 water pump ( and s5 turbo drain if its a turbo )

these will all bolt to the s4 block with no issues ,, bare blocks with the timing covers removed are identical s4 and s5
( aside the oil filter dowel wedge and top of plate ACV on s4 NA,, and leading spark plug locations s4 NA to s5 NA )

the confusion arises when you mix s4 timing cover with s5 water pump
( rear of the pump housing clashes with timing cover,, grinder fix )
or s4 water pump with s5 EOMP and s5 timing cover
( s4 water pump outlet will hit EOMP )
