S4 door lights stay on at all times

Alright so I have an 87 base model (t2 swapped if that matters.) and I recently swapped in the doors off of a t2 because it has the electric windows. The ONLY problem I have run into is that the lights on the bottom of the doors stay on AT ALL TIMES. Is this a common problem? I push in the little switch that the door hits when it is closed to turn off the interrior lights, but that doesnt affect the lights on the doors.

The only way i can get them to turn off is to unplug the door from the harness, or unplug the battery.

Anyone able to tell me how i might fix this?

Sounds like the door lights aren't hooked to the proper circuit, the wiring configuration for the plugs may be different. Does everything else on the windows work right?

I think the door switches are supposed to give the circuit a ground when the door's open, it sounds like the door lights aren't even connected to that circuit and are instead hooked to something with a complete and powered circuit all the time.

What do you mean everything else works? The window itself will go up and down via the controls on both doors. It could be possible that have one of the plugs, plugged into a wrong connector I suppose?

EDIT!!
OK never mind if you were even able to read my previous...
The door lights are powered by wires L/R & L/W. That's blue with red & blue with white strips. Try de-pinning one of those wires from the harness and see if they turn off. They stay on both doors right?

The S5 door you installed has a door harness which connects to the Front harness. The two wires you have at each courtesy door light needs to be connected to the Blue/Red wire and Blue/White wire coming from the S4 Front harness.

Then what were the color of the two wires from the Front harness that you used to plug into the Door harness?

The Green plug is the Passenger Door harness (6 wires) and the Blue/Red wire needs to mate with a Blue/Red wire in the Front harness (6 wires). Does it? The Blue/White wire in the Green plug needs to mate with a Blue/White wire from the Front harness. Does it? The Front harness should have the following wires. Light Green/Yellow, Brown, Brown/Red, Light Green/White, and the Blue/White, Blue/Red wires.
