Ok, my ABS pump is shot and I need a new one. There is someone with a good S5 ABS pump, but I don't know if it will work in my system due to the fact that I don't know if the pump runs off the ECU and I know the ECU's are way different between series Does anyone have any good information on this?

I was under the impression our cars didn't have ABS?

If it was available, surely the GXL would have it stock...

 

S4 optional on GXL and Turbo, S5 standard on Turbo.

Need to check the VIN number to see what pump you can use:
86-88** Need Vin # -- This part number covers Vin#'s 7114-7701 43-7A0f-F048
89-92 From Vin# 7701 43-7A0J-F048

 

Ok, that last post kinda has me confused, could you elaborate just a little bit on the VIN's and how they correlate to the ABS pumps?

 

Good question. The info came from Mazdatrix's website. I just checked the vin on the 88- 605216 and the 89- 704015, so neither fall into the category listed. I would give them a call to explain, then you would know which part/year to look for. I have 3 S5 ABS units, but no S4 to compare them against.
