CA S4 88 Vert Shifter

Ar the 88 vert shifters the same as the S5's??? I picked one up at a pick a part about a week ago ang my shift *** on my vert fit the S5's shifter... So did I waist my money??? because to my understanding of what every one says or at least what I've gathered for my self is that they are different in thread pitch or some thing can someone make this clear to me and others that may have this same question....

There are two thread dimensions on the shifter ***** , 10mm and 12mm . Cant remember if its the s4 or s5 thats bigger .

Get a short shifter kit , and new bushings instead , while on it . :-)

I agree with Andy I had a short shifter in my Integra's and it really made it harder for me shifting. I didnt like it I'm not drag racing anymore so I dont need it. I just want a new shift ****...

Short shifter makes a huge difference in these cars when racing or high performance driving. I used to miss 4th to 3rd heel-toe downshifts all the time with the stock shifter. I never miss/grind them now.

Shifting is much faster. The FC stock shifter throw is almost truck like compared to the MX-5s and the FDs.

I like it better on the street too but i guess that is just personal preference....

The ***** are different.
Thread pitch anyway...
S4 = 12mm x 1.5
S5 = 10mm x 1.25
