Yeah a probe should lose without a doubt. I've taken one in my 86 with only an intake/exh

1st generation ('89-92) Probe GTs had turbos.

I'd say the 5speed PGT would win against an auto vert.

5speed against 5speed with a coupe would probably be about the driver.

I went even with a PGT in a 87 stock auto GXL. That was without manually shifting, I would have had a little if I did.

I got beat in my 88 NA by an older PGT. It just had more power than I did.

Well your talking about the heaviest FC there is: an S5 Vert auto. What do they run stock, 17 flat? Thats really being generous with an automatic. The PGT runs 16 flat, and if they have any mods they will respond alot better. Just some stuff to think about.

My friend had a modded Probe GT 5-speed. It was a '93, which was the fastest year of the 2nd gen Probes. We only raced once, at the time alls I had was my Bonez cat, stock cat-back and intake and everything else. Alls He had was an intake, borla cat-back, maybe a few other little things at the time. Id say in the 1/4 we were about pretty even, but from a roll and at higher speeds he walked me pretty good. I think it was a combination of the higher torque, and low gearing. His 5th gear pull was comparable to my 4th, maybe even a little better. That was me pretty much stock and him with intake and catback though, so I dont really know the outcome mod for mod, Id give it to the rx-7. They are definately not too shabby though.

Get what you want. The TII and NA are totally different cars.
