Rx7 Vert Headlight Switch

I just wired up my new radio on my 88 Vert and now whenever i cut my headlights on with the radio running i fry the headlight switch ive ruined two switches now and have no idea wtf is going on. Any helpful advice would be awesome

For the radio i used all the stock connections and have the headrest speaker power wire hooked up to the remote wire (headrest speakers dont work i think its the amp Speakers are good)

What do you have the illumination wire running to? I don't have a diagram here but there is a wire that lights up the face of the stock radio that you might have grounded

That sounds exactly right, the ground wire should go to a good grounded bolt on the body, NOT the illumination wire.

sweet all day today i was thinking that wire i used for a ground was the problem cause i remembered seeing a wiring diagram that showed it running off to some sort of light system... thanks for the help
