rx7 turboII dash warning lights malfunction
rx7 turboII year of manufacture 1991
recently, and for no obvious reason, most of the warning lights on the dash ceased to come on when the ignition is turned on - only ones working are handbrake and ABS. A local, trusted auto-electrical wizard spent days trying to locate the fault, but has drawn a blank - my Haynes manual apparently is of little relevance. Can anyone help me, maybe with an applicable wiring diagram? Thank-you all in advance.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
as covered in countless other threads, it is very common to have cold solder joints appear where the harness plugs into the board of the idiot lights/clock.
If you remove the old solder and flow new solder in, on every pin on the board where the harness would plug in it should solve the problem.
You may also wish to use the search fucntion found in the upper right hand corner of this page and look through the old 2nd gen threads and 2nd gen achive for other posts on repairing it, as again it has been covered before.

Thanks, Mark. If all else fails, read the instructions - or, in this case, the archived threads. I see you're right, it appears to be a very common problem. I know that he did re-solder the joints on the idiot board itself, but I'll enquire as to the same on the ECU and act accordingly. What an amazing resource this site is!. Very impressed.
