Rx7 Help

Hello, I am pretty new to Rx-7's i currently own a turbo DSM. The reason i am posting here is because i need some help. At my college there is a 2nd gen Rx7, 5 speed. Thats all i know about the car. I guess the owner was tired of working on it and now it just sets. I am pretty sure it is a non turbo. What i am wanting to know from you guys is about the engine. Is is the same motor that is found on the 2nd gens with turbos? Are turbo kits common on the n/a rx7s or would the best thing to be a motor swap. I would have about 1k to play around with after i bought the car, and i assume that it doesnt run at all. I really am lookin for something new because my dsm is my first car and its an automatic so i havnt done all that much as i would like to in the performance area.

Thanks

There are no really known bolt on kits for the N/A. Also, 1k probably wouldnt cover it anyways unless you can do fab work.

The motors are basically the same, but they have fundamental differences (compression ratios, etc..)

So to swap in a turbo motor you have to do or have some fab work done. Also how much to turbo motors go for?

Nope, they will drop in. Dont know what they go for though.. Probably about 800-1k ish. You will need more then that though. I think in the FAQ is the info on a turbo swap.

save your car money plus the grand for mods and just buy a TII

much less headache than doing a swap
