the alternators usually make a scratching sound off the engine, does not mean they are bad.

remanufactured alternators are hit or miss, usually miss. they usually reuse the main components that fail and their reconditioning processes usually do more harm than good on those parts.

 

Thanks for your imput guys. Maybe I am overtightening the belts. I want to switch to and fd alternator. I have been stalling out and getting bad idle and noticed that if i turn off my headlights it doesn't happen, as soon as my wipers and headlights are on it gives me trouble again. I have a brand new battery, and the only other electonics are a basic cd player and an alarm.

 

Make sure u don't use an under drive pulley. I did and ended up getting a smaller alt pulley again
