Rx-7 or not....That is the Question
All of you Rx-7 heads out there, I need help. I have a 6 cylinder 3 series Bimmer. I have been doing work on the car and I just cant afford it, it is too expensive. Just because it is a bimmer the parts are 2x as much as the same part for a japanese or domestic part. I spend 2x as much $ on the car and get the same or less perforamnce increase.I am selling it and I am trying to decide if a 94 Rx-7 is for me. I Have heard excelent and bad things about the rotary. I have heard that after a lot of miles these engines will go, faster than others. I want to know more of the cons about this car. I already know the pro's, it is a badass car. I am just trying to figure out what kind of problems people mostly encounter in modifying these cars. I am only a novice when it comes to doing work myself , but I love racing. Please give my ignorant
self some much needed knowledge. Thanks again to anyone who can help.

From what I've gathered, the most common mistake is to turn up the boost without augmenting your fuel with either a stand-alone unit,(preferable) or an upgraded ECU. This typically leads to a lean condition which rotary engines have ZERO tolerance for, then you detonate and ruin apex seals.
