I think most people here know about them (noobs excepted), but it amazes me that some of these people haven't downloaded them! This is such a useful resource. So many of the questions asked here wouldn't need to be asked if a little reading was done first. I know they're big downloads, but you only have to get the chapter you're interested in, or you could do what I did and bribe a mate with high-speed internet and a CD burner to put the whole lot on disc.

The downloadable .pdf shop manuals are good, but they're still no replacement for the paper shop manual, especially when it comes to the electrical diagrams.

I've got the '87 manual, the '91 manual, and the '93 manual, as well as 5 zillion Haynes manuals that mysteriously show up at the house .

That's why you print out the bits you want. I actually printed and bound the entire wiring diagrams chapter, which made it heaps easier to use.

I am relatively new to the scene, and as I read allthe different posts in this forum, I constantly see the words Haynes Manual. There are a coulpe of things that I would like to do to my car, but all the write ups on the jobs say "Get yourself a Haynes Manual first". What the hell is one and where can I get it?

The Haynes Manual, which is very easy to find/get, is like a shitty FSM. Not many diagrams (although the pics are *sometimes* helpful - when they aren't baffling.) Almost all text. I consider it more a mindless indulgence for someone who insists on having all things RX-7, rather than a genuinely useful tool.

And, yes, I have one - but it was free.

Haynes manual are good if your doing not so technical things to your car but i would advise you to download the FSM from the link i've listed above to do all of the deep down and dirty stuff...

Haynes is also good I have one also...it was given to me too::
