Rx-7 2nd Gen Spark Plugs

Question Rx-7 2nd Gen Spark Plugs

Hello people,

I have just got an Rx-7 2nd Gen which is 13B non turbo (wicked car). I have a small problem with my spark plugs cause i cannot find BUR9EQ in NGK number. No other number spark plug can fit because they are too short for the tools to install it.
Do you have any sugestions/recomendations to give me?

Well, I'm guessing that there aren't too many Mazda Dealerships on Cyprus! These plugs are rarely listed in parts catalogues as the rotary is the only application for the plug. If you ask, most NGK dealers will be able to special order it for you. Failing that, these plugs are widely available from internet sites that carry Rx7 parts. Shipping from the US may be a bit too pricy, so I suggest looking closer to home. On the first page of the forum, there is a "European Forum". There may be people in there who can help you out - maybe point you towards some internet stores that are closer to home (so shipping would be less.)

Again, I'm not sure what the frequency of automobile dealers and parts stores is on an island in the Meditarenean Sea, but if you ask, most places that sell NGK can special order them for you. Good Luck!

Cheers for the reply. There is a Mazda Dealership in Cyprus and they sell the spark plugs but in a nicely spicy price Also my dad runs a spare parts shop and cannot locate a similar spark plug number. The internet is a solution that i am considering but in the extreme case that i cannot find a cheap solution.
What i am asking is for another brand part number, like Champion or Nippon Denso that are available in the island.

you are pretty much out of luck trying to find another brand of spark plug besides ngk.

From what I understand, NGK is the only plug WORTH using. I seem to remember a thread about another make of plugs, but they user was really unhappy with them. How much does the dealersip want for the plugs? They usually sell for about $7-$10 USD over here, so they are an expensive sparkplug anyway.

u should order plugs in USA or Canada, anywhere in Europe its impossible to buy BUR9EQ or EQP for good price.... (good price = $5-6 each, normal price in europe = $25 each)

Any decent rotary shop in states will sell them to you and shipping of set spark plugs thru global priority mail will get them for $9 to you in 3-5 days....

nippon denso makes rotary plugs S-29A and S-31A, there designed alot like the ngk ones

I bougth Spark plugs from http://www.sparkplugs.com/ and payed $56 incl shipping to Norway!! Shipping went fast, I only waited a week


Is S-29A Leading an S31 Trailing?
