It ruuuuuuuns!!!
Here's the timeline for my '90 TurboII:
February: Buy in Saginaw, MI. Tow to school in Flint, MI to wait for end of school term and engine to come in.
April: Tow to rental home in Royal Oak, MI, order engine. Engine arrives. Spin engine, doesn't seem to have EXCELLENT compression, but makes noise when spun. Install, do some ATF, ends up having ZERO compression. Pull engine, send it back, full refund.
May: Credit card is refunded for old engine as it arrives
June: Locate another engine in Toronto. Order, receive, dump ATF into it on all rotor faces, spin by hand to check compression, sounds good, begin install.
July 3rd 8:00 PM: Engine runs!!! Coolant temp wasn't hooked up, stuck under intake manifold, gather up some old connectors from the cut wiring harness, ghetto-rig an extension, connect it, running fine.
July 4th 1:45 AM: Leave Royal Oak, MI for Cleveland
July 4th 4:00 AM: Arrive in Cleveland with no problems. wooohoo!!!
July 5th 12:00 PM: Fail emissions check with flying colors (bastard..) Anyone have any receipts for.. spark plugs, plug wires, air pump, catalytic converter, injectors, fuel pump, um.. anything that could even remotely be related to emissions? I have to show that I spent $300 on emissions related equipment and then retake it. I'll fail again, and they'll pass me.
