Rust in oil?

Question Rust in oil?

I took of my oil cap today and there was rust in the oil fill pipe and on the oil cap. is this normal? what could csuse this if not man I hop its nothing.

Has the car ever blown a coolant seal?
If the dipstick looks clean, and no sediments are in the oil, I wouldn't worry too much about the surface rust in the standpipe, but I would take a damn good look at the oil next time you drain it, maybe drain a sample through a white filtered medium, although the filter should be stopping any particles...

I just changed my oil and it was clean so is the dip stick i guess Im cool. hey thanks

the fill pipes on both engines i took apart to rebuild my fc had rust. it's most likely because the paint had come off of the inside of the tube from being scraped by funnels and such, so and the metal corroded.

Thanks I just got my shop vac and put it over the tube and lightly brushed the rust with my finger. worked great all that powery rust and such is gone now.
