running rich, tried everything

ok ive been running really rich for a while... ive done full tuneup, got new wires, set , set, set, and set the tps...

normally i set the tps with a multimeter (1k ohm) but today i tried the light method. i built the light tester, hooked it all up, set it until only one LED lit. my SAFC2 (set at +-0 all around, so its not that) in sensor check mode tells me that the tps voltage is .785 ... where it should be between .8 and 1... but between .8 and 1 both leds are lit. (just put in the tps, specs out ok narrow and wide)

now before using the light method, i could hit 40mph at about 7.5k rpms... now its hitting about 35 at 7.5k.

also, ive noticed with the tps, if i set it, then i open the throttle and let it snap back, it will read differently sometimes. playing with this, i noticed i can move the flange that hits the tps BACKWARDS about 2mm and get a bad reading. could this be the springs on the throttle body? im thinking about putting a new TB in but i dont know if it will help.

anyway, does anyone know the factory settings for the idle air screw (on top of the UIM) and the throttle stop screw (with the lock nut around it) on an s5 n/a tb? anyone know a definate method of setting the tps?

anyone know any other way to adjust how rich im running?

this is just plain aggravating.

thanks
tj

im not sure about s5's but i know a s4 has a idle mixture screw. Its in front of the pass strutt tower. has L-R with arrows pointing in each direction, check that, maye that can help lean it out a little.

1) Ummmmmmmmmm do you have an automatic??????? if you have a clutch.. the speed should be the same and the same rpm in the same gear....

What you're telling me there is that either your auto tranny needs a fluid change and some lucas tranny additive.. or your clutch is slippin'

2) Wait. your talking about the rotator on the throttle shaft, right.. not the TPS mounting bracket.. correct?

yep, unless you have an auto, or you changed you gear ratios, your speed is always the same at a given speed.
