running to rich

installed 13bt in 1989 non turbo rx7 starts fine and runs great at high idle then when idle kicks down motor starts to run rough and very rich need some help correcting this problem .

Variable resistor adjusts idle mixture, try playing with that.

Correct me if im wrong but he said that his car is an 89, i dont think S5 cars have variable resistors. Best way to lean out a mixture is to buy an Apex SAFC

No, the S5 car does not have the variable resistor. It has an air mix screw on the TB.

Read the FSM section on how to adjust idle mix.
