I have a 87' GXL and with a new battery it will start but when i turn the car off it wont start again, and i had my alternator checked and it passed everything so i have a base model 86', i was wondering if i could use somthing from it possibly.

 

maybe ur engine is flooded. do u wait for it to reach operation temp.?

 

yeah we need a bit more info. does it try to start? does it turn over? does it almost start? and anything else that the car does when you try and start will help.

ok well when i start the car it starts fine and then about 10-15 seconds into it, it starts reving in between 500-100 rpms and ive let it run for about 10-15 min and no real problems other than the reving, now when i turn the car off it doesnt start again. i had my alternator checked at autozone and they said it passed all the requirements so im thinking maybe a connectin problem or somthing but i really dont know much about it so i thank you very much for the help.
