so i start my 89 turbo and once it runs for a min or so the temp gauges goes as high as the needle will let it and the rad is hot i have a 3 in koyo rad and before it would run a little below 50% on the gauge

also im leaking a fair amount of oil on the turbo side of the engine it seems like its coming straight down from around the front of the turbo or maybe in that general area i would really like to potentially know what all could be the problem

 

check your Coolant..see if it is LOW.
if it is top it up,,then Look for leaks,as it should not be low in the first place.
Oil in front of the Turbo..maybe the Oil line.(the steel one).

 

its at the full level do you think its the thermostat i got a new one i will replace tomorrow if i can find out how

i will check on the steel line i think you might be right

also where is the thermostat at lol

 

Under the thermostat cover of course .

It's on the water pump housing, next to the water pump itself.

 

oh is it under that black elbow thing? and i figured it was there
i messed around with it and i think its just leaking coolant and does coolant stain the ground
