Rubber Plug in Tranny got eaten!
With everything almost ready to go (engine in and most things hooked up), I just noticed that a rubber plug that goes in the bottom of the tranny, I had noticed it was falling apart and loose earlier but thought it'd be ok..
Well I'm guessing that when I was putting the tranny and engine together the flywheel caught that plug and ate it or something... because it's not there anymore.
It's probably inside the bellhousing... is it going to cause problems with the clutch, flywheel, etc? Heh, I mean it'll probably just get eaten whole and ripped to shreads ^^ but I'm not sure if that'll mess with the input shaft, maybe get into places it shouldn't you know.
So I'll try to pull it out somehow, but I can't even see it... I'll try turning the flywheel around a few times and see if it comes down.
Should I worry about it enough to PULL the tranny (!!) or the starter maybe, and just get it through that hole.
And where can I get a replacement? Doesn't look like a great idea to drive around with a place for rocks and dirt to jump right into my clutch/flywheel/input shaft/throwout bearing.

I forgot the ground that goes on the starter bolt, so I took it off...
Can't find that damn plug!
Oh well, it's not on the flywheel... so maybe it'll just sit in there and next time I do a clutch job I'll find a treasure... a lump of sooted rubber. ;P
ALMOST DONE!! Gotta take a break, go get some hoses from autobone... and maybe finish it up tonight late after dinner and such... or maybe tomorrow... the weather is looking bad though.
Bad idea to start the car while its still on jack stands? I'm just gonna leave it idling for like 10 minutes... I'll throw the tires on just in case it somehow falls on its ***, but I think it's pretty damn sturdy (good jackstands)
I don't want to take it down since I've gotta change the back brake lines (SS =)) and bleed the entire system since it now has lots of air in it. In fact, mostly air.
