RTek 1.5 and OMP removal.

S5, Electrical OMP

If I get an Rtek 1.5 with the OMP removal option can I continue to run the car with the OMP still in place and just disconnect the OMP and OMP sensor plugs from the harness?

This would just be temporary till I block it off, and of course I would premix after unplugging.

Since the pump will be disabled, you can do whatever you want with it. The bit of code in the ECU that would normally cause limp mode gets removed, and you're free to premix. The ECU won't care if the pump is plugged in or not.

Alright, thats what I was thinking but I just wanted to make sure. Is it necessary to remove the UIM to plug the injector ports or can you work around it?

There's no way for you to get at the oil injectors without taking the UIM off.

If im going to remove my OMP to use premix + RTek 1.5, do I need to also remove the vac lines that connect to the oil lines on the housings?

why keep them on?You would only have a vacuum leak through the oil injectors anyways.
Use these to plug the injector holes: http://www.pineappleracing.com/rotor...ringplugs.aspx

It is not hard at all, I did it when my omp died, went with rtek 1.5. Just get the omp block off plate kit and the plugs. I forgot what company I got the block offs from, maybe it was pineapple racing a few years ago

Since you have the UIM off you might as well replaced those vac hoses and send the injectors off for cleaning.

I don't see why you don't/didn't just leave the OMP.....air lines to the OMP injectors...and oil lines b/t the OMP and injectors just as is. The air line to each injector is part of the stk idle bypass air. So? What's lost? Nothing and nothing gained leaving them in place. And not much of anything gained by removing them and installing blockoff plates etc.

Well, for me:

1. My OMP was leaking from where it attaches to the block, and I was not going to remove it just to put it back with a new gasket.
2. I was replacing all the vacuum lines, and the injector bleeders and connecting "spider" were extremely hard and brittle. So In my mind, it increased reliability and allowed me to simplify the vacuum lines.
3. If for no other reason (assuming your OMP was inoperable and burning out the ECU like mine) it is one more thing that clutters the engine bay that can be removed without any serious work.
