Went to turn on the headlights yesterday and the passenger side headlight only opened about an inch. This is the first time in 25 years that I've had a problem with a headlight retractor on my 90 GXL. Time for a "new" retractor motor? Any thoughts?

You can access something underneath the headlight to raise it manually. Do this and see if it comes up readily or gets caught up on something. And I think the relays for your headlight is an internal one.

 

Ok...thanks. Binding linkage it always a possibility. I doubt it's the linkage, but that's the first step that should be checked. I just bought a used retractor motor off of ebay. Hopefully, that's my problem.
