Rough Starts
I just bought an 88' FC. Everything on the car is great BUT when ever I start it the morning it would idle at 1000rpm then shut down completely. It wont stay on, unless i keep my foot on the clutch. after holding the clutch down for 5 minutes, the car would have warmed up a little and then it would stay on. I have 2 questions: (1) Why is my FC so hard to start...and (2) Is it bad for the clutch if i hold it down for that long everytime i start the car???
Did you give the car a tune up? Try that if you didn't. Starting off fresh elliminates a lot of possibilities. Reground the car and then adjust the TPS after...
Holding the clutch down shouldn't pose a lot of problems but if clutch does give out for some reason from holding it down so much may prove you soften up the rubber line and may need replacement.

I have the same problem with my 87'. I would start though, idle at 3-2k and then it would seem like it runs, then die. I've tried adjusting the throttle, it helps, but then it idles way way to high. I have yet to find the problem. Is this after your car sits for a while/a night and then you wake up and it does that?
