hmm..

get this. I drove the car today for the first time since I put the new crank angle sensor in..

GOt in, cranked it up, ran like ***..

drove it for a minute, ran like ***..

drove around more extensively, filled it up with fresh 93 octane gas and 2 bottles of Chevron fuel system cleaner, and it's running better.

not great, but a heck of a lot better than it has been..

I'll check the trailing plug wires and see what's goin with them.

And as for the brake booster, as soon as the weather clears I'll look at it..

And I dobt that it's low compression, because the car runs so well otherwise.. it's down to just a crappy idle now..

thanks everyone for your help

hmmm

It seems to me that I have the exact same problem in my 87 TII. Except my brakes arent getting any harder to use at all. But other than that it is exactly to the tooth what my car does, it idles like **** (rpm's jump, sounds like its misfiring, etc) and the gas mileage got terrible, I am getting about 11-12 mpg, I am really curious to see what your problem is so I can get a chance to fix mine Good luck!

anyone figured the solution for the this problem? I am also having the same issue with my 88 vert. hard brakes, rough idle after warm up and 12 mpg.
one thing I have noticed is that after a long ride, say 10 min at 70mph, when I stop the idle is just fine, it is not rough anymore.

any ideas?
