Question Rough idle, little power

hi all, I was driving(racing) when I shifted from 3rd to 4th and the motor died. I can start it up but it's really rough and when I drive it, it has little power. It feels like its running on one rotor. If I don't apply throttle the engine will die. Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks

have you tweaked your afm? i might be wrong, but my friends 10ae had his afm tweaked and the spring was so tight that barely any air would get in, or maybe when you were racing the spring maybe broke or something? see if you can get an extra air flow meter from someone and test to see if that fixes your problem.

maybe air flow meter?

this was his cars symptoms: his car was REAL sluggish, and he could barely go ANYWHERE. when he got up to about 4krpm it would get worse and make a popping noise? but of course his was bad. and when you got to stops you had to keep your foot on the gas or it would die. the engine would also start to flood for some reason when it happened, maybe the car thought it needed more fuel to keep it running. not sure. but he replaced the air flow meter and wired a switch to his fuel pump and PROBLEM SOLVED! lemme know.

i'd try this then try and see about running a compression test, testing the afm would probably be alot cheaper.

I haven't modified the MAF, but I will check on it before I do a compression test. Thanks everybody!
