rough idle after redline, OMP not acuating?

ok, so i have this weird idle problem, right after i take it to redline or just under and comes back to idle speed, the motor shakes pretty badly like it wants to die, but it wont die....i noticed today that my OMP rod wasnt even in the pump rod. somehow the couder pin fell out, so i put the rod back in. it still does the same thing. if i run it hard, then drive for a while and then come to an idle, it is nowhere near as bad. if i dont run it hard at all, it idles smooth. any ideas? let me know if more info is needed.,

oh, its a fresh rebuild with aux ported only with about 3000 miles or so on the motor

is there any chance i scored the housings from lack of lubricant from running it to redline without any OMP?

is there a way to check if the pump is actually pumping oil?

the omp still injects some oil even with the rod off IIRC. otherwise you'd be running without oil at idle. the rod just makes it put out more for heavy driving.

there are methods in the manuals for checking the OMP. when in doubt: premix! ... or premix a little anyways.

i wouldn't think the housings are screwed from that little abuse... most of those first 3k miles should have been easy driving to break in the seals anyways. if you really want to know do a compression check.

as far as the idle, adjust the TPS and the set screws. your throttle cable might also be sticking too so make sure therre is the proper amount of free play at the TB.

the idle speed is at about 900-1000 but the motor shakes pretty violently

i have good power, and the motor is broken in already.

its just strange that it only idles rough like that after taking it to high RPM then coming to an idle right away
