Question Rotor side seal wavy spring

In taking apart my 86NA engine, I find these very thin, wavy springs beneath the side seals (our equivelent of 'piston' rings?). They all seem to be attached in the center of their arc, and I am afraid to pull on them; they are so thin, if they break off in the bottom of that groove the rotor would be scrap!
Anyone got any experience with this? Thanks.

Between the heat, oil, and carbon the side seal springs sometimes get stuck and need a persuasive hand to get them out. Even on a basic rebuild it's standard operating procedure to replace these. Put some carb cleaner in the grove and let it soak over night that should loosen it up a bit.

Thanks Dana,
It's simple really. I'll just soak and yank!
