Rotor and caliper grinding!?!? need help please

my calipers and rotors are hitting each other. i took off the wheel and caliper off and noticed that the rotor moves back and forth (if your facing the rotor). is there suppose to be a little movement or is the rotor assembly suppose to be stiff and solid? i was thinking the caliper may need a rebuild as one side of the pistons does not work and the other side that does is pushing the caliper into the rotor. has anyone had this problem before?

thanks,
melvin

your rotor sounds like it is loose...check out the wheel hub, the two little screws, etc..there should be NO side to side movement(with the rim on the car, can you move it side to side too?)// if you can't work on it take it to a shop now..any good shop can do it..rx brakes are like any other cars and a good shop can fix it...get it looked at now

when i got the car i noticed a rubbing sound and it was the caliper. the brakes look fairly new. maybe when he changed them out, he hit something.

i checked the rotor and the two screws are tight. i think the hub assembly is loose.

is their a way to tighten the hub assembly or do i have to purchase a whole new one?

I think you should be able to tighten it down. Try checking the FSM for possible instructions on this. www.iluvmyrx7.com
