Rotary Literature?

Are there any good books or anything showing how to rebuild rotaries. I just got a 89 vert for free, but it has a blown motor from what I was told. I don't know what exactly is wrong with it. I might just get a used running motor fromo a wrecking yard that my Dad deals with for $800. Is there anything cheap and easy I should do to the motor before I put it in if I go this route? Thanks for the help.

First see if it's really broken.

Put some ATF in the lower (leading) plug holes, crank it a few seconds, come back a day later & do a compression test.

I have a mirror of the factory manuals in PDF form at the link in my sig.
