The right watanabe wheels for my FC
Hello,
Yes I always wanted original F8 Watanabes on my FC ! I am aware that wata's cost money and thats why I am asking before buying anything.
I need someone with wheel experience to take a look at my planned setup and point me in the right direction if necessairy.
My car:
White 1986 S4 NA DD bone stock with original gxl wheels, running Bridgestone Turanza ER300 (205/60/R15)
Planned setup:
I want some F8 watanabes which are not "hella flush" but go out enough to fit the fender with a tastefull look.
I would also like to keep the offset to an acceptable minimum, I like it when the wheel dish/hub is placed a bit more inside the wheel, still not too deep.
Browsing the rs-watanabe.co.jp site they recommend these dimensions for 5 lug:
Front: F8 16-70 +30
Rear: F8 16-80 +25
I would like to keep it @ 16", good looking and not too expensive while remaining light (remember shipping ...) Stock wheel is 15"
I think 70 for front and 80 for rear might be okay and fit my wishes but I have to consider that I have to get rubber for those !
As for the offset I understand that less offset leads to a deeper dish but I dont understand exactly the offset in relation to the 70 and 80 width.
By keeping offset level XY and getting a larger say 80 wheel, so that means that the same wheel will go stand out furter in both directions?
What do you think of the F:+30 and R:+25 offset value ?
My color choice would be flat black or gunmetal as offered by rs-watanabe. No chrome lip.
Planned to custom order from Takumi project, or better rs-watanabe japan ? Used would be fine too but I dont think someone has the setup I am looking for.
What do you think ?
I am seriously concerned about this, as my car gets new white paint next summer and the wheels are bugging me.
Regards
Steven

Thanks for the fast reply.
I saw the pics already, but they are a different type of wheel. I believe it is the F8F style/design.
Also its a vert TII S5, dont know if they are 1:1 transferable to an S4.
But it comes close to what I am looking for.
Has it any negative effects for handling when I use both 16x70 s instead of 80 for the rears?
Tire choice will be much simpler then .
I am still new to the entire wheel fitment stuff.
