Racing Hart makes the "regular" wheels and the "evolution"wheels - the Evolution wheels are less expensive and come in mainly rice sizes - like 17x7. No wide wheels or crazy offsets, typically.

Anyhow, they're decent wheels - they're round, and look good.

If you have an NA, a 7" wide wheel is plenty - lotsa grip, and you don't have traction problems.

IMHO, a lot of people get real elitist about wheels - if they don't cost $2000 and need special tools they're crap. Really, for 90% of those reading this, just find some wheels that look good that you can afford and get 'em - don't kill yourself over weight, width, etc. If you're getting to the point where a 7" wide wheel just can't hold enough rubber and you have traction problems, then it's time to look for something else.

Yo,

Dale, thanks for the info. Yep, I'll be running the stock 16 x 7 size, +40mm. I really think the 16" size is the biggest I'll go since I'm NA.

I've been running 205/55-16's and haven't had a problem with grip. I spoke with a Toyo rep and he said there is no need to put massive meats on an NA that's putting 140HP to the ground. I'm sure 17's would look good on my car, but I want performance, not looks. A nice light 16" (like the stock ones) has been doing me fine for over 3 years, street and track.

You get that 10th AE runnin' yet?! *grin*

Dale has a good point. Plus, if you need more traction you will prolly not want to run the same tires in street trim as on the track. So you can just switch to some slicks or D/R's in the back when you get to the track. My eventual plan is to run 17x7.5" all around with 225/40/17s all around(maybe 225/45). Then when I go to the track throw my Nittos on

Sounds like a good choice - 16's look good on an FC. I'm happy with my 16" GAB's.

I've been putting in a LOT of time on my 10th Anny - the main wiring harness has been repaired and re-wrapped (the WHOLE thing, like 2 hours of work!), wiper motor back in, brake booster/master cylinder/brake hardlines in, oil cooler and AC condensor back in, front mount installed...it's coming along! I still have plenty to do, though!

Track? Oh, you mean a drag strip...I thought you meant a real track (ducking)

For 17x7.5's, you'll want 225/45's - 40 series will have some really thin sidewalls and look way odd. There's a guy here with that setup, and it's hurtin'.

If you want something cheap to put drag rubber on, get 2 stock 3rd gen wheels - they fit fine on the back, and they're 8" wide for plenty of meat. You can easily put 245's on 'em.

Speaking of, I just ordered 2 245/45/16 Yokohama AVS Intermediates for the back of my car . Next paycheck I'll get the fronts. They're a KICK-*** sticky tire, and Tire Rack has 'em on closeout for NOTHING - like $60 a tire!!!

I thought of getting FD rims but have been told you need spacers and don't want to mess with them.

FD wheels fit nicely in the back but you need spacers for the front. Thats why Dale said to get some FD wheels w/sticky tires for the back.

RacingHart rims are made in Japan with crazy offsets and sizes. Some come in 1, 2 or 3 piece designs. RH Evolution are made somewhere in the good ol USA (probably in California). RHE is typically 1 piece and come in convienient Honda sizes (i.e. 18x7.5, 17x7).

I had 18" RHE C2's on my Talon, they were nice good quality strong wheels. Still not a "cheap" wheel as compared to rota's and the like, but cheaper than the Volks I have on the black TII.

Are rotas cheap as in cheaply made? I was thinking about maybe getting some.

Yo,

I've heard good things about Rotas, just read an article in some mag about 'em. Made in Korea I believe, using good casting techniques, x-rayed, etc. etc. They pass all international standards. For the price/weight equation, they really can't be beat.

I will probably be getting the Rota Sub-Zero (Racing Hart CP-035 clone) in white, in 16". Or...I might just get the CP-035 if I can get a hookup. 16" = 10lbs. Woo!

Ya I want the same style rim. Konig, Racing Hart, Rota and I believe some others make it. I want 17s though, they weigh like 16#. On ebay they sell the konig ones for like $440 for the set. Rotas have alot of color options though. Hard to decide a color for my car, I got the arctic silver. Looking at the gun metal or steel gray rotas.
