reviving my seized engine?
today I got my newish mazda reman engine in (by newish I mean 50xxxKm) and in turning it over with the starter the engine slowed with each rotation. In all it took about 3 seconds for the engine to just stop. I know the battrey is fine; and when I tried to turn it by hand it wouldn't even budge. This is interesting because just before installing it, it did turn over by hand. So clearly it has seized, but I am thinking it could be revived. So far I have heard put atf in and let it sit for a few hours; and try pushing it with another vehicle and try poping the clutch with the gear selected for the opposite way of motion to try and reverse the rotation of the engine. Any thoughts?
You need something to disolve the carbon thats probably locked the motor up. It needs to be inserted through the sparkplug holes and the exhaust and intake ports. I would try MMO or seafoam.
theres oil in it i assume. as far as injecting oil into the engine i would use some penetrating oil and try to loosen it little by little with a braker bar. thats what i would do
let the oil soak as long as you have time
