Retardation strikes again
Okay so I thought that for some reason my acv block off plate came with my downpipe I got a few years ago.
So I put it on my new swapped out s5 to s4 set.
I got it to run but it wouldn't pulll passed seven K
So I got this bright Idea to put the acv back on. Well now it pulls all the way through to 9 and cut off.
BUT
I timed it with the ACV out and block off plate on.
Does timing it without the ACV throw off the timing?
Because after 7K it smokes bad.
Me AM SmART.

What year is the car? if it is a S5 (1989-1991) the 5th, 6th, and VDI ports use the air from the smog pump/AVC to open. So if you did not have that hooked up these ports would be closed causing poor high-end performance.

The car is a 91, with an 87 gxl s4 block in it. And yes there was poor high end proformance.
But I originally timed it when the acv was not on it.
Now the acv is back on and the high end is definately back up to snuff....
However when pulling past 7k it smokes bad.
So I was wondering if it was not timed correctly with the addition of the ACV?
I don't wanna mess with CAS again if I don't have to.
