Resistor solenoid

Okay I've heard conflicting stories and I've read several posts confirming my need for a resistor solenoid and then denying my need for it.

And so many people have said. .... "huh?" that I'm just going to ask about it specifically in the forum and see what the official response is.

The fuel injector resistor solenoid. Mounted in the right side of the engine bay near the headlight assembly * I've heard* to lower signals from the ECU to the injectors.

I've got an 88 GTU that I'm swapping the N/A engine out for the turbo one from an 87-88 Turbo.

In the engine swap guide on FAQ it mentions replacing it. But then again it also says you need a T2 harness. And I've found out that you can actually slightly modify your existing harness to fit the new engine, so I wonder if the information on the resistor solenoid is accurate.

Please let me know some of your opinions!

you will only need it if you have a pre 87.5 engine and engine harness.

If you have a 87.5 and later engine, and harness then you do not need the resistor pack
